Project Manager - Water Treatment

Job Description AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Water Treatment Project Manager who is passionate about water, conveyance, treatment plant evaluation, design and construction. The role requires experience as a client‑facing project manager on regional and municipal water treatment projects, with an immediate opportunity to contribute to an established practice in the New England area (Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT). Responsibilities Lead multi‑discipline and complex water design projects from planning through permitting and construction, including alternative delivery projects. Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects to approved scope, budget and schedule. Perform technical reviews and implement AECOM quality standards. Serve as a point of contact internally and externally for projects and clients in the New England area. Consistently complete projects without write‑downs or multiplier erosion. Develop and mentor mid‑level and junior staff for career development. Exercise decision‑making authority and direct others to recognize risk and uncertainty, with plans to mitigate and eliminate such risks. Lead business development activities, including pursuing new clients and projects and leading proposal efforts with technical and cost pricing. Actively participate in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering. Travel to and/or work in Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Manchester, NH as required. Qualifications BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 6+ years of related experience in water treatment, pumping and conveyance systems. Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of related experience in water/wastewater consulting and engineering management. Registered Professional Engineer in MA, CT, NH, RI, VT, ME or ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience leading scope, technical approach and pricing efforts for business development activities. Experience in water treatment, pumping stations, conveyance systems and client relations. Experience leading client and public presentations. Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff and project team. Experience leading design‑build/alternate delivery projects.
