Rooming Medical AssistantWe're seeking a caring and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our providers and ensure a smooth patient experience. In this role, you'll take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and help maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. You'll be an essential part of our primary care team, working together to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care.If you're motivated, adaptable, and enjoy working in a collaborative medical setting, we'd love to hear from you!Reports To: Site ManagerLocation: On site - 31 Sherman St Jamestown NYTravel Required: <10%Position Type: Full-time 38-40 hours per week, non-exemptPay Information: $16.50 - $21.50 per hourThe Rooming Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care by using current standards for preventative measures and working within the scope of practice to obtain necessary medical data for patient's visit.Role and ResponsibilitiesObtain vital signs and perform medication reconciliation during rooming process in a timely and professional mannerAssist providers in performing various medical proceduresPerform blood drawsPrepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and cleanCreate orders using Disease Management and Health Maintenance as an age-based tool to assist with incentive measuresWork in messaging and document tanks to return patient calls with knowledge of provider schedulingMaintain a clean environment set forth by OSHA guidelinesUphold strict HIPAA standards when speaking to patients and faxing patient informationMaintain current HIPAA training an annual basisParticipate in team meetings to maintain processes and stay alert to pertinent changesReport patient related needs to providerMay assist in other departments as neededAny additional duties as assigned by managementQualifications and Education RequirementsAt least six months experience in related field preferredMedent EMR experience preferredCPR Certification requiredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred SkillsAbility to adapt to the needs of the organization and employeesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle stressful situationsBasic computer and math skillsStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesThe physical requirements and working environment are typical of most medical office settings. Employees are frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, balance, hear, talk, reach, and use their hands. Employees may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (stepstool) and stretch. Physical effort requires some lifting usually not in excess of 25 pounds. The office work environment is indoors and free from dust, smoke, moisture, and excessive noise.
