With strong engineering expertise, Sedron's processes reduce nutrient pollution, lower operational expenses, and promote sustainability at a fraction of traditional costs.We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development of electrical systems for medium-sized industrial plants through the FEL/FEED/Detail Design and Construction process, with a primary focus on power distribution. The ideal candidate will guide electrical engineering projects from early-phase feasibility through detailed design and construction, providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems for complex industrial facilities.Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:Lead the development of electrical systems for medium-sized industrial plants (~$150M to $200M) through FEL/FEED/Detail Design and Construction phases, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budgetHave general oversight of the entire electrical scopes of work including process equipment, processes controls, IT, OT/SCADA, freeze protection, lighting protection, grounding, with a primary focus on power distribution systems.Provide technical leadership on power distribution system design, including single-line diagrams, load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and equipment sizing for medium-sized industrial plantsOversee the specification, selection, procurement, and installation of power distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and circuit protection systems across medium-voltage (1KV to 35 KV) and low-voltage systems (1KV or less)Manage the selection and implementation of motor controls (single/multi-phase starters, soft starters, and VFDs)Create and review detailed construction documents for equipment manufacturers and electrical contractorsEnsure compliance with UL508A, NFPA 79, and NEC (NFPA 70) standards for machinery and site installationsServe as a mentor and technical advisor to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharingCollaborate across engineering disciplinesCollaborate with Sedron's project delivery team, equipment manufactures, and construction contractorsDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency practices, including adherence to 5S and HazMat standardsSolve complex technical challenges with creativity and innovation, delivering solutions on time and within budgetDemonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alikeDemonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasksArrive to work on time and maintain good attendancePerform other related duties as assignedThis position allows for growth and career progression to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.BenefitsMultiple medical, dental, and vision insurance options to keep you feeling your best401(k) with employer matchingGenerous paid time off and paid holidays (plus 2 floating holidays to use your way)Disability, Life, and AD&D InsuranceFSA and HSA options with employer contributionsTuition reimbursement — we invest in your growthCasual work attire — no suits required (unless that's your thing)Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution10+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering for industrial plants, with a strong emphasis on power distribution systems and project development through FEL/FEED/Detail Design and Construction phasesProven expertise in power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, and protective relaying for medium-sized industrial facilitiesDeep understanding of electrical codes and standards (UL508A, NFPA 79, NEC/NFPA 70)Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept through commissioningStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills for complex electrical and control systems.Proficiency with industry-standard software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar power systems analysis software is preferred; experience with Eplan or equivalent electrical CAD tools is a plusExperience mentoring and leading technical teamsEE PE License is a plus.Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GEDMust have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English languageAdditional InformationCompensation range for this role is between $120,000 - $160,000 annuallyThis role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company successThis role requires approximately 10% travel to support Sedron facilitiesIn compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron's estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
