Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and compassionate nursing care throughout the continuum of their hospital stay
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary; administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate and maintains effective working relationships across the care team

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
• Experience in cardiovascular or cardiac stepdown nursing
• Proficiency in applying professional nursing theories, practices, and techniques in a fast-paced hospital environment
