Records and FOIA Compliance Officer

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized FOIA & Records Coordinator to manage Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and support records management operations. Responsibilities The Records and FOIA Compliance Officer is responsible for receiving, tracking, and processing FOIA requests while ensuring all responses are completed within statutory deadlines. This position works closely with Sheriff's Office personnel to locate, review, and prepare records for release, including the redaction of confidential or exempt information. The compliance officer maintains accurate records, correspondence, and tracking systems, supports compliance with records retention requirements, serves as a liaison with legal counsel on complex requests, and prepares reports related to FOIA activity and records management. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive law enforcement information. Experience with records management, public records disclosure, or administrative support in a government or law enforcement setting is preferred. Salary & Benefits Starting salary is $53,890.77, with an excellent benefits package.
