Description


The Communication and Outreach Coordinator helps families in Montana learn about MTF2FHIC services and resources. You will work closely with the Center Coordinator to build awareness of our program and increase the number of families we reach. This role requires creativity, independence, and a commitment to making information accessible to everyone.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Create and Share Information

• Write, design, and share outreach and marketing materials in print, video, and online formats.
• Make sure all materials are easy to understand and accessible to people with different abilities and backgrounds.
• Order and manage promotional items.

Reach Families Across Montana

• Build and manage our online presence, including social media platforms.
• Develop outreach strategies that reach families in rural areas who may not have reliable internet access.
• Analyze data from our website, social media, and print campaigns to improve future outreach.

Build Partnerships

• Work with internal teams and external partners to promote our services together.
• Build and maintain relationships with state agencies and community organizations that serve children and youth with special health care needs and their families.
• Help plan and run MTF2FHIC events, both in-person and online.

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelors degree, or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Experience planning and managing communications, both internal and external.
• Experience managing a website.
• Experience working in grant-funded programs or nonprofit organizations.
• Willingness and ability to travel around Montana, including overnight stays, at least 3 times per year.
• Comfortable using computers and programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience creating communications and media, such as print materials, websites, videos, radio, or social media.
• Strong writing skills, including the ability to write clearly, check for errors, and adapt your style for different audiences.
• Ability to write in plain language - translating complex or technical information into clear, easy-to-read content for families.
• Strong people skills and experience working with others inside and outside your organization.
• Ability to manage your own time and work independently on complex tasks.
• Creative problem-solving skills, both on your own and as part of a team.

Work Schedule: 0.25 FTE

Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
