Pay Range: $18.79/hr +

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the safe operation of the finishers, heat exchangers and decanters.

Responsibilities:

1. Proper operation of the Decanters and related processes both on the delivery side of this equipment as well as the waste removal process.
2. Correct Paperwork & gallons
3. Operate in Hot Set Pasteurizing Temperatures
4. Centrifuge feed chamber cleaning procedure
5. Add Correct enzyme dose for pectin & Starch- Document lot numbers.
6. Change Bertocchi Turbo Extractor Screen.
7. Operate CIP System on mash tanks 1,2,3- Bertocchi Finisher – The Double Tubes Heat Exchanger- Centrisys Decanter – Product line from the decanter balance tank to Processing tanks # 7 & 8
8. Perform critical valve manipulation to send product to correct tanks.
9. Move pumice truck and ensure pumice pumps and augers are working.
10. Ability to drive forklift.

Role in Food Safety : Follow plant GMP’s at all times and ensure work area is secure.

Position that backs up this role during absence : Any other trained employee in the Processing Department.

A. Physical Requirements:

This position requires the following physical demands up to 90% of the time:

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Must be able to carry 50 pounds up and down 12 stairs.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours during a shift minus breaks and lunch.
• Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold conditions.
• Must be able to stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders and crawl in tight and awkward work places for long periods of time.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination.

B. Non-Physical Requirements:

1. Education: High school diploma or GED required.

1. Experience: Minimum one year experience as a decanter operator preferred.

1. Special Skills :

• Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs.
• Knowledge and awareness of proper lifting techniques.
• Knowledge and awareness of chemicals used for CIP and proper PPI while using them.
• Knowledge and awareness of augers and how to maintain covers and guards.
• Knowledge and proper use of lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

• Motivated, focused and accountable for results.
