Groundskeeper

Overview Responsible for keeping the grounds of the property in an attractive condition; for keeping exteriors, common areas, vacant apartments, sidewalks and alleyways of the property in a clean and safe condition. Assist in other types of maintenance when necessary. Responsibilities Maintains property grounds of community. Waters lawn, shrubs and flowers as needed. Picks up litter on grounds. Sprays with insecticides as needed. Maintains watering and drainage systems. Assists in inventory control and upkeep of all grounds equipment and supplies. Assists with any emergency maintenance. Cleans all hallways and common areas including laundry center. Cleans all parking areas. Cleans all sidewalks and alleyways. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 1 to 3 months related on the job experience or training. Must be well organized and a self-starter. Perform general maintenance repair tasks professionally without endangering yourself, residents or fellow associate. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Must be team oriented and a problem solver. Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times. May be required to work extended periods of time without relief, when responding to priority/emergency situations. Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device. Lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 30 feet. Climb ladders and stairs. Must have a valid driver’s license.
