Architectural CAD Designer (AutoCAD / Revit)
Annual Salary: $65,000 – $75,000
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural CAD Designer to support the production of shop drawings for wall panel and ceiling systems. This role focuses on interpreting architectural and construction documents and translating them into accurate, approval-ready shop drawings. The ideal candidate has strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, excels at reviewing plans for constructability and coordination, and has a strong attention to detail. Experience with Bluebeam is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural, structural, and construction documents to extract relevant information for wall panel and ceiling system shop drawings.
- Produce detailed, approval-ready shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit based on issued construction documents.
- Interpret design intent, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications without developing or modifying architectural plans.
- Identify discrepancies, conflicts, or missing information in plans and coordinate clarifications with internal teams and external partners.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from construction documents to support estimating and material procurement.
- Develop and maintain Revit families related to wall panels, ceiling systems, and associated components.
- Incorporate review comments and approval markups into revised shop drawings.
- Utilize Bluebeam for document review, markups, overlays, and coordination (preferred).
- Ensure shop drawings comply with project specifications, codes, and company standards.
- Conduct thorough quality control reviews prior to submission.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors during the submittal and approval process.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- Degree or certification in CAD Drafting, Architectural Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience producing shop drawings from construction documents, preferably for architectural systems.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret architectural plans, sections, details, and specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong plan review skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple submittals concurrently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with wall panel systems, ceiling systems, or architectural specialty products.
- Experience using Bluebeam for plan review and coordination.
- Familiarity with construction submittal workflows and approval processes.
- BIM coordination experience related to specialty trades.
