Automotive Mechanic / Shop Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic to independently operate and manage our automotive repair facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and repair skills, be self-motivated, and capable of handling all aspects of day-to-day shop operations. This position requires the mechanic to provide and maintain their own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of vehicles, including domestic and foreign makes.
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid services.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics on engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems.
• Communicate repair recommendations and timelines with customers.
• Manage workflow and scheduling within the shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Order and track parts and materials as needed.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of automotive repair experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• ASE certifications preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Must provide and maintain a complete set of personal automotive tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
