New Jersey Certification for Board Certified Behavior Analyst required 2. Certification as a BCBA for a minimum of 2 years (preferred) 3. Experience working in a school setting (preferred) 4. Master's degree in Special Education, Preferred 5. Training in Applied Behavior Analysis 6. Expertise in the field and knowledge of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) 7. Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is preferred. 7. Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations as well as effective use of verbal de-escalation techniques and protocols. 8. Graduate degree required from an accredited college or university. 9. Must pass N.J. Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement. 10. Demonstrated ability to relate well with students, staff administration, parents, and the community. 11. New Jersey state residency requirements for public school employees in effect.Performance Responsibilities1. Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments. 2. Develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPS). 3. Consults with teachers and staff in the development of social skills groups and interventions (goals and objectives). 4. Trains school personnel on all intervention plans. Assists the educational staff in implementing behavioral programming; both individual and classroom. 5. Works cooperatively with special education administrators, school psychologists, social workers and special education teachers in developing FBA/BIP procedures. 6. Participates in behavior teams providing support and management for the implementation of behavior plans. 7. Develops and maintains a data collection system and appropriate records, assists and provides guidance for teachers, and Child Study Team members, and other staff in the implementation of behavior interventions. 8. Provides coaching and professional development to staff on behavior interventions and supports. 9. Confers with classroom teachers, along with special education teachers/pupil services staff regarding students with behavioral challenges. 10. Reviews data on all intervention plans, writes progress notes, and reports and assist in writing IEP goals. 11. Advises and consults with the family and other agency personnel, as needed. 12. Participates in in-service programs and presents in-service programs as assigned. 13. Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures 14. Provides or supervises direct ABA services as needed. 15. Assists in the development of appropriate behavioral and instructional interventions, providing support for both instructional staff and students. 16. Creates programs to assist the district in providing ever improving levels of support for our learners and maintains them in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) to the greatest extent possible. 17. Provides support to students and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, functional analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. 18. Performs other duties as assigned. 19. Attends IEP meetings as needed. 20. Assists with crisis intervention as needed.
