Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Beckley, West Virginia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/13/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 13, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of current experience and a WV or compact RN license.Details\n \n MS/Tele unit within an expanding department\n Night shift rotation (3x12 and 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)\n 36/48 rotating schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period\n Patient ratio of 1:5-7\n Meditech EMR used\n Floating required within scope of practice\n Every other weekend required\n Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated\n Requirements\n \n Active WV or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration\n BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\n AVADE Level I & II certification preferred\n 2+ years of current Med/Surg Tele experience required\n 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred\n Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration\n Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management\n Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management\n Experience managing IV insulin protocols and cardiac drips\n Experience with post-MI care and pre/post cardiac catheterization\n Familiarity with CVA care, post-TPA care, and neurosurgery patients\n Flu vaccine required with only medical or religious exemptions considered\n Driver's license required with address matching permanent address\n Two professional references required, one from a Charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac, renal, neurological, and orthopedic cases\n Support patients with substance withdrawal and seizure disorders\n Administer epidural analgesia, heparin protocols, and PCA medications as needed\n Monitor chemotherapy administration for oncology patients\n Only local candidates within 75 miles of the facility will be accepted\n No extensions approved beyond this 13-week contract\n Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront with no changes accepted afterward\n Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment\n Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit\n Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year before returning to this system\n First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant Level IV experience\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751649.
