Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the emergency department, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on individual patient needs.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
• Participate in educational programs and in-services to maintain and enhance nursing skills.
• Float throughout the assigned zone as needed, based on staffing and patient care requirements.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room or critical care setting.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.

Unit Information

• Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center.
• Average patient volume of 100 patients per day.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5, depending on patient acuity.
• Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 and assists with breathing treatments and ABG analysis.
• Registered Nurses are responsible for interpreting telemetry strips.
• Technicians support unit operations, assisting nurses with various tasks.

Schedule and Shifts

• 12-hour night shifts, focusing on a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement.
• Leadership will create the schedule based on department needs.

Additional Notes

Candidates should be prepared to be in-state for a week of orientation, even if initial training modules are conducted remotely. The role may require floating to various facilities within a designated 60-mile zone based on operational needs.
