Software EngineerSeeking a Software Engineer to support development and sustainment of complex, mission-critical systems. This role involves full lifecycle software engineering including design, implementation, integration, testing, and analysis within a structured environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software for complex systems with a focus on performance and reliabilityPerform system modeling, simulation, and analysisDevelop software components such as system utilities, low-level programs, and OS-level functionalityExecute design, implementation, integration, and testing activitiesParticipate in formal reviews (requirements, design, integration, acceptance)Apply object-oriented principles and design patternsDevelop and integrate software in Linux and embedded environmentsCreate scripts for UNIX/Solaris systems to support automation and buildsUse IDEs for development, debugging, and optimizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams on system requirements and performanceProduce and maintain technical documentationFollow established lifecycle processes (CMMI-aligned)Develop and execute unit tests; support regression testingSupport system integration and test activitiesRequired Skills0-7 years of experience with C++ or Java in Linux environmentsExperience across design, development, integration, and testingFamiliarity with formal engineering review processesObject-oriented design and development experienceExperience developing in C++Exposure to Windows, Linux, and UNIX-based systems (including Solaris)Scripting experience in UNIX environmentsExperience with IDEs (e.g., Eclipse)Familiarity with UML for system modelingExperience with xUnit frameworks (JUnit, CppUnit, etc.)Understanding of structured development processes (CMMI or similar)Knowledge of embedded software developmentMust have Active DoD Secret ClearanceAdditional QualificationsExperience with Python or BashFamiliarity with UNIX-based toolchains and environmentsExposure to large-scale or long-term technical programsExperience with automated and regression testingExperience in real-time or embedded systems preferredStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsEffective communication in technical environmentsWork EnvironmentOn-site role supporting a long-term, mission-focused programWork conducted in a secure, process-driven engineering environmentTechnologies include Linux, UNIX (Solaris), and Windows systemsUse of standard development tools, scripting, and testing frameworksStructured schedule (e.g., 9/80) with stability and long-term continuityJob Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Moorestown, NJ.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
