Job Title: Material Handler - This is located in Alsip IL

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials within our facilities. You will be responsible for operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to transport materials to and from production lines and inventory. Your duties will include staging, stacking, and wrapping pallets, preparing products for shipment, and loading and unloading trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move materials.
• Gather inventory and transport it to production lines.
• Transfer materials from docks to inventory and from lines to docks.
• Stage, stack, and wrap pallets.
• Prepare products for shipment.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Utilize stand-up forklift to pick orders.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Experience with stand-up forklifts.
• Proficiency in using an RF scanner.
• Ability to load and unload trucks.
• Strong material handling skills.
• Experience in lifting and sorting products.
• Ability to multitask.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in chemical, oil, or food manufacturing is a plus.

The Alsip Facility is a modern, clean, and organized site with a focus on safety and efficient operations. It has been remodeled within the last 10 years and features a smaller workforce. The Chicago Heights Facility, while not as new, is also temperature-controlled and houses a larger workforce, offering a more dynamic and bustling environment. Both facilities focus on safety and provide a comfortable work setting with multiple break rooms and security checkpoints.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $19.35/hr.
