Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room

Location: Rochester, NY

Position Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Pay Rate: $30–$40/hour (Traveller)

Shift & Schedule:

• Day Shift

• 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• 4 × 10-hour shifts

• 40 hours per week

• Call required (6 call shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a busy Operating Room with multiple surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will have strong OR experience, excellent sterile technique, and the ability to assist surgeons in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures.

• Scrub and assist surgeons during a variety of surgical cases.

• Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.

• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and specimens safely.

• Perform surgical counts and ensure compliance with patient safety protocols.

• Support decontamination and sterilization processes.

• Follow Universal Protocol, aseptic technique, sharps safety, and infection prevention standards.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and the perioperative team.

Requirements:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required

• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience

• Experience scrubbing across multiple surgical specialties

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures

• Experience with General, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Vascular, ENT, Bariatric, Gynecologic, Urology, Thoracic, Robotic (Da Vinci Xi), Spine, and Laparoscopic procedures preferred

• Epic EMR experience preferred

• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Travelers must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
