Licensed Practical Nurse Schedule Varied 8 hour shifts Job Description The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role serves as a vital communication link between the patient and the assigned Registered Nurse, ensuring that the patient's needs are effectively addressed throughout their care. Responsibilities Provides personal hygiene care and participates in the formulation and updating of the patient's care plan. Administers medications and treatments, including respiratory therapy modalities, and records them accurately. Applies and enforces infection control policies and practices. Organizes time, effort, and energy effectively while exercising judgment in prioritizing care. Reports incidents and changes in the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse. Takes appropriate actions during stressful, unusual, and emergency situations. Establishes good interpersonal relationships and demonstrates understanding, patience, and tact in interactions. Provides patient instruction during hospitalization and upon discharge. Assists with the orientation and continued learning of new staff members and students. Maintains professional and clinical competence through active participation in continuing education programs. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse Program with current licensure. CPR and ACLS certifications are required. Required visual, auditory, and manual dexterity abilities to assess patient conditions effectively. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn various computer programs utilized by the facility.
