Description:
Transitioned to a virtual integrated care nursing model.
Must work the schedule given; cannot offer block scheduling.
Unit has 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1.
Common diagnoses include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and medical/surgical tele patients.
Tele-monitor techs monitor patients, but RNs must be able to read strips.
Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are available for support.
Patient Care Technicians are present with a ratio of 12:1.
Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow devices.
Shifts are managed by the manager, without guaranteed block scheduling.
Every other weekend work is required.
Holidays are required as part of the schedule.
Staff may float to all medical/surgical units.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Department orientation is completed for all staff.
Cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per 13 assignments, with different policies for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.
