Physical Therapist

Provide specialized physical therapy services to patients by assessing their condition, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and improve functional ability. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care within established standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' physical function through formal and informal testing to determine neurological, skeletal, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-oriented treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance, ensuring alignment with physician orders.
• Submit and update treatment regimes as part of the plan of care, co-signing verbal orders from the physical therapist assistant when required.
• Design and coordinate individualized treatment schedules, communicating with patients, families, and clinical staff to ensure proper implementation.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and rationale for interventions, including exercise, modalities, and other therapies.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Michigan PT license, verified via LARA or Nursys.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in outpatient and acute care settings.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in documentation, assessment, and therapy planning.
• Ability to delegate responsibility appropriately and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
