Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful execution of power delivery and substation projects by assisting with project planning, cost control, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and client coordination. The APM works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the planning, execution, and closeout of power services projects, including substation, transmission, distribution, and related utility infrastructure work. Support project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and change management processes to maintain financial performance and project profitability. Coordinate project schedules and monitor progress against milestones, identifying potential risks and helping develop mitigation plans. Assist with procurement activities, including material tracking, equipment deliveries, subcontract administration, and vendor coordination. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, action logs, change orders, and project reports. Support client communication and coordination efforts to ensure project requirements and expectations are met. Collaborate with field supervision to track production, manpower utilization, schedule performance, and project progress. Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and contract obligations. Assist with invoice review, cost coding, and progress billing activities. Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project status, schedule, costs, and potential issues. Help ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support project turnover and closeout activities, including punch list management, documentation collection, and final deliverables. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience supporting utility, power delivery, substation, transmission, distribution, industrial, or EPC construction projects. Experience with self‑perform construction, subcontractor management, or utility infrastructure projects is preferred. Strong understanding of construction project management principles and project execution processes. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control practices. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Experience with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is preferred. Physical Requirements Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office setting but must be able to traverse construction sites as required. Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
