As a Cultivation Technician 2 at Vangarden Cannabis, you will play a vital role in our cultivation department, performing essential tasks that contribute to the growth and health of our plants. Under the guidance of the Cultivation Supervisor, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including cleaning, transplanting, trellising, defoliating, pruning, harvesting, and trimming. Your keen attention to detail will be crucial as you assist with daily room checks, promptly reporting any signs of pest or disease to ensure optimal plant health.

Maintaining a clean and organized workspace will be part of your routine, along with monitoring equipment functionality and collecting performance data. By adhering to state regulations and company standards, you will help uphold Vangarden's mission and vision, making a significant impact in the flourishing cannabis industry.

To succeed as a Cultivation Technician 2 at Vangarden Cannabis, you should bring a rich blend of skills and qualifications rooted in the cannabis industry. At least one year of prior cannabis experience or a minimum of 180 days tenure as a Cultivation Technician 1 is essential. You must be comfortable working in hot, humid environments and adhere strictly to standard operating procedures. Proficiency in using aerial lifts and ladders safely, along with a high attention to detail, will be vital for managing complex and sensitive processes. Effective communication, characterized by kindness and respect, is crucial for collaborating with teams of five or more. A strong work ethic, reliability, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment are also key.

Physical capabilities, such as the ability to stand for extended periods and lift weights up to 50 lbs, will support your success in this active role.

The role requires one year of prior cannabis experience or at least 180 days tenure as a Cultivation Technician 1. You must be able to work in hot temperatures with high humidity and adhere strictly to standard operating procedures. Additionally, you should be able to learn and safely use aerial lifts and ladders after receiving formal training. The ability to work with and oversee teams of five or more to complete cultivation duties will be important, as will a high attention to detail and focus on complex and sensitive processes. A strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance are essential to ensure uninterrupted business operations. Effective communication with peers and management, characterized by kindness and respect, is necessary. You should also be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in a growing startup environment, and the ability to perform overtime and weekend shifts may be required on a per-need basis.

Physical requirements for this position include the ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors, frequently walk and reach with hands and arms, and consistently lift 10-20 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. You should be able to maintain balance while climbing ladders or stairways and perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Fine motor skills, such as grasping, turning, and pinching, will also be necessary. Additionally, you should demonstrate clear, kind, and respectful communication with peers and management.
