Head Baseball Coach Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate coach who demonstrates a deep belief in the potential of all students, and the ability to work with diverse teens. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to student growth, fostering a positive environment, and creating opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning and athletic development. This individual will exhibit the highest standards of relationship-building, resilience, and adaptability, while managing multiple stakeholders including students, staff, parents, and external collaborators. Season Start Date: March 2026 Key Responsibilities Student-Centered Leadership: Demonstrate belief in and respect for diverse student populations, ensuring that all students feel valued and included. Create opportunities for student agency, allowing students to actively engage in the development and success of the team. Build and sustain positive, trust-based relationships with students to support their academic, athletic, and personal growth. Hold high expectations for all students, fostering an environment where every individual is challenged to excel. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Athletic Department, Facilities Crew, and Maintenance staff to ensure the seamless planning, organization, and scheduling of team activities. Manage interactions with the Athletic office for the efficient handling of expenditures, purchase orders, and other financial responsibilities. Coordinate with coaching colleagues and school staff to align efforts and create a cohesive approach to supporting students across various domains. Foster a shared vision of success within the team, collaborating to achieve common goals and support the holistic development of each student. Act as a liaison with parents, students, and staff to maintain open lines of communication and ensure a clear understanding of expectations, progress, and outcomes. Behavior Management & Support: Proactively manage student behavior through high expectations and the cultivation of strong relationships, balancing accountability with support. Adapt coaching techniques to meet the varying needs of students, ensuring inclusivity across athletic, academic, and behavioral requirements. Demonstrate emotional intelligence, being aware of and managing personal emotions while empathizing with students and team members. Innovation & Problem-Solving: Think creatively and strategically to find solutions to challenges, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles to support student success. Use available resources and support systems effectively, demonstrating resilience in the face of setbacks. Professional Development & Accountability: Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally, keeping current with best practices in coaching, student development, and diversity. Engage in difficult conversations when necessary, holding both students and colleagues accountable for their actions and commitments. Ensure transparency and clarity in decision-making processes, valuing input from all stakeholders and seeking diverse perspectives.
