Additional Information About the Role BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Charge Orthopedic General Radiology Technologist for the Center For Advanced Medicine (CAM) in Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Position Details Day Shift Hours: Monday - Friday rotating weekly (6:30am -3pm) & (8:30am – 5pm) Lead team in day-to-day tasks, manage and run workflow, Problem solving, Scheduling, Reporting, Perform diagnostic orthopedic imaging CR and DR and procedures under c-arm, along with other day to day tasks within the department 2 plus years Orthopedic and C Arm Experience (highly preferred) NO Evenings/Holidays/Weekends Requirements Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R) Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education) 2 years or more experience Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. You will be working with an organization on the leading edge of diagnostic radiology. In fact, our radiology department is regarded as one of the top five in the United States, and performs over 453,000 diagnostic imaging examinations annually. Role Purpose Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in general radiology on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem-solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to the team. Responsibilities Prepares patient and equipment for procedures. Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism. Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department. Manages shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets. Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring. Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
