Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to support our tax and accounting team with client work. This is an entry point into public accounting — we're open to a recent graduate with relevant coursework or a candidate with a year or two of hands-on tax/accounting experience, and we'll invest in training the right person. It's a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the field while working alongside our Senior Accountants and Client Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of Individual, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust income tax returns under the guidance of Senior Accountants and Client Managers
• Help maintain accurate books and records for clients (data entry, reconciliations, bookkeeping support)
• Respond to routine client requests and correspondence in a timely, professional manner
• Research basic accounting and tax questions relating to specific clients
• Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple client engagements
• Assist with new company initiatives as it relates to supporting programs that improve workplace efficiency and business growth

Qualifications

• College coursework or a degree in accounting, or 1–2 years of hands-on tax/accounting experience
• Willingness to learn the Thomson Reuters tax/accounting software suite (UltraTax, Fixed Asset CS, Planner CS, Accounting CS, Onvio, and Practice CS) — prior exposure is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Work Environment & Schedule

• Full-time, in-office position based in Columbus, OH
• Overtime is required to meet tax deadlines — approximately 55–60 hrs/week from March 1 through April 15
• Observes the firm's holiday schedule
