Production Floor Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and effective production processes, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe working environment. You will be responsible for leading a team of production workers, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality cold food products to meet customer demands.


Key Specific Responsibilities:

1. Supervise Production Operations: Lead and direct a team of production workers, including line operators, machine operators, and working closely with quality control and maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards.

1. Production Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with production planners to create and implement production schedules that optimize resource utilization and meet production targets.

1. Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control measures throughout the production process to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, product specifications, and customer requirements.

1. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures to enhance operational efficiency, minimize waste, and maximize productivity.

1. Training and Development: Train and develop production staff on proper operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.

1. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule and perform routine maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.

1. Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.

1. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory levels, and quality control documentation, and provide regular reports on production metrics to management.

1. Driving Accountability: Holds team members accountable for performance, attendance, and adherence to company policies by consistently addressing issues, providing clear expectations, and administering corrective or disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain a high-performing and compliant work environment.

Qualifications for Position

• Proficient in using computer systems and software applications relevant to production and inventory management.

Supervision:

• Supervise Production Operations: Lead and direct a team of production workers, including line operators, machine operators, and work closely with quality control and maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards.

Measurements of Performance:

• Production Output & Schedule Adherence: Consistently meets or exceeds daily and weekly production targets while maintaining high schedule adherence (e.g., % attainment of production plan, on-time order completion).

• Quality & Food Safety Performance: Ensures compliance with all food safety and quality standards, resulting in minimal defects, customer complaints, and non-conformances (e.g., first-pass yield, audit scores, defect rates).

• Labor Efficiency & Productivity: Optimizes workforce performance by effectively managing labor and resources (e.g., labor cost per unit, units produced per labor hour, overtime reduction).

• Safety Performance: Maintains a safe work environment with low incident rates through enforcement of safety protocols and proactive hazard mitigation (e.g., recordable incident rate, near-miss reporting, safety audit completion).

• Team Performance & Accountability: Builds a high-performing team through training, coaching, and accountability measures, leading to improved attendance, reduced turnover, and consistent adherence to policies (e.g., attendance rates, turnover %, disciplinary trends, training completion).
