Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 20-week travel assignment at a leading acute care hospital in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. You will work with advanced breast imaging technology and collaborate closely with radiologists and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis and early detection of breast disease. This position is ideal for Mammography Technologists who are committed to clinical excellence, patient safety, and providing an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations following ACR and facility protocols. Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Operate and maintain Hologic Mammography equipment efficiently. Verify physician orders, patient identity, and clinical history before procedures. Evaluate image quality and repeat images when necessary to ensure diagnostic standards are met. Educate patients regarding mammography procedures and answer questions professionally. Assist radiologists during breast biopsy procedures when required (preferred experience). Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols. Document imaging procedures accurately in EPIC Electronic Medical Records. Monitor equipment performance and report any technical issues promptly. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience (travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted). Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Active ARRT (R) certification. ARRT (M) Mammography Certification required. Active Oregon State License (if required by state regulations at the time of assignment). Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification. Experience operating Hologic Mammography systems is required. Strong knowledge of breast imaging protocols and quality assurance standards. Excellent communication and patient care skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Previous breast biopsy assistance experience. Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records. Acute care or hospital-based mammography experience. Experience with digital breast tomosynthesis (3D Mammography) preferred.
