Summary Security Officer (or Security Guard) ensures the safety of the area they are assigned to watch. Duties include monitoring the premises, responding to emergency situations, and keeping track of all incidents on site. Duties and Responsibilities Reports to the Security, Safety and Loss Prevention Manager Maintains and controls entry and exit of all individuals entering the Dublin Distribution Center Checks visitors in and out of the area Monitors and analyzes CCTV camera footage Guards valuables in a secure area Protects company assets from theft, assault, fire and other safety issues Responds to alarms and emergencies Communicates irregularities with management Keeps an incident report record Follows procedures for fire prevention, traffic control and accident investigations Patrols and secures the area as needed Escorts visitors around the premises Assists in investigations to resolve theft issues Ensures compliance with government regulations Responds to local burglar and fire alarm calls Participates as a member of the corporate crisis management and disaster response teams Reports all facility accidents and associate injuries to the Security, Safety and Loss Prevention Manager or designee within 24 hours of occurrence Provides assistance to emergency medical teams as needed to ensure safety and security of associates All other tasks as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Interpersonal communication verbally and in writing with a diverse range of people; proper handling of security situations; effective use of time and resources; ability to solve complex problems; assessment of operational needs; identification of administrative problems; ability to work long irregular hours under pressure; availability 24/7; team approach; supervision of contracted security personnel. Knowledge of principles and practices related to security operations, personnel practices, administrative practices, preventative practices, investigatory practices, and supervisory functions. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent Two years of Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Military, Security experience or a closely related field Preferred: Five years full‑time experience in a security related field performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work Ability to communicate in English; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Mail is preferred Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Perry Ellis International is an equal opportunity employer.
