Job Description:


- Unit: Surgical Trauma Stepdown (63610)
- Location: Medical City Denton
- Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Unit Overview:
- Number of Beds: 25
- Team Size: 44 FTEs (57 headcount)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 (1:5 maximum for stepdown)

Staffing Breakdown:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 3 Techs, 1 Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 3 Techs

Essential Qualifications:
- Must-Have Skills:
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Preferred Experience:
- Background in Trauma/Orthopedic care
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures:
- Caring for patients post acute surgical interventions:
- Trauma, Bariatric, Vascular, and General Surgery
- Neurosurgery, Orthopedic surgery, GI procedures
- Managing patients with neurological diagnoses and critical conditions
- Administering IV fluids and medication management for:
- Cardiac issues, Respiratory distress, and more
- Monitoring and stabilizing patients with complicated medical histories
- Collaborating with a skilled team in a supportive environment

- Vital signs every 4 hours
- Continuous telemetry monitoring
- Comprehensive patient assessments every 4 hours
