Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Responsibilities Registered Nurse (RN) – Locked Psych Unit, Per Diem position located at Corona Rehabilitation Center in Corona, CA. Reporting to the Nurse Manager and Director of Behavioral Health Services, this position will require accountability for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of the health of patients assigned to the RN. The RN utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the nursing process to deliver quality care to patients with serious and persistent mental illness. The RN works in conjunction with the Charge Nurse and may function as a Relief Charge Nurse as needed. Qualifications ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnoses, terminology, and medical record charting. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Minimum Essential Experience At least two (2) years of experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness, preferably one year in an inpatient setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum Essential Education Assaultive Behavior Management Training required within 90 days from date of hire. Required Licensure / Certifications Current California RN license. Current BLS (CPR) Certificate.
