Active APTA membership encouraged but not required. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy school required. CPR certification required every two years. Responsibilities Provide patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and aligned with the Standard of Practice. Document accurately: complete written patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, patient/family education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD-9 codes as appropriate. Meet departmental financial and productivity standards, adjusting individual schedules to meet patient and department needs. Participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services, identifying quality and operational opportunities. Promote professional development and education of other health care workers; conduct in‑service training programs and represent on committees. Supervise physical therapy and assistant students to develop clinical skills and ensure quality patient care. Communicate professionally and timely with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. Provide appropriate patient care according to age/developmental guidelines; demonstrate age‑specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
