Storyby is an entertainment tech company that turns original ideas into stories in novels, vertical films, and immersive audiobooks. 10+ million people worldwide read, watch, and listen to our content.

In the Storyby ecosystem, there are three products:

• AlphaNovel—a platform of novels and immersive audiobooks with a library of 20k+ works.
• StorybyWriter—a publishing platform for 25k+ authors; we screen the strongest stories for DramaShorts.
• DramaShorts—vertical cinema streaming with 1 million fans monthly (own production in Europe and the USA).

Now we are scaling the team and are looking for a Backend Engineer who will become part of the team, help the business grow, and reach new heights.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementation and support of API endpoints for web and mobile: Cloud Functions, validation, OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Performance optimization: profiling, caching, correct indexes—so that everything works fast.
• Quality and reliability: unit and integration tests (Jest), logging, tracing, alerts.
• Code review and support of engineering standards in monorepo (Nx, esbuild, CI).
• Basic infrastructure work with Terraform and participation in incident analysis.

What is important to us:

• You have 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• You understand SQL at the level of indexes, profiling, and correct queries.
• You work with Git as part of the process, not just “commit at the end of the day.”
• You can prioritize: you separate the main from the secondary.
• You are interested in new technologies, trends, and AI, and actively share knowledge with the team.
• You feel responsible for the code you create for users.

It will be a plus if you:

• Have experience with GCP (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Storage), Firebase (Auth, Firestore), CI/CD, Terraform.
• Know or want to learn more about SOLID, GoF patterns, Clean Code.
