As Tax Operations & Resource Manager, you'll own visibility into the firm's tax workload. You’ll proactively identify bottlenecks, analyze operational data, and work with partners and managers to keep work moving efficiently from intake through completion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the central point of coordination for the firm's tax workflow, helping ensure work is assigned appropriately, deadlines stay on track, and priorities remain aligned.
• Monitor workload, project status, aging work, deadlines, and staff capacity to identify potential delays and support effective work distribution.
• Work closely with partners and managers to coordinate workload assignments, resource allocation, and priority management across the firm.
• Produce and analyze workflow, capacity, turnaround time, and workload reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Identify jobs that have stalled and work with responsible parties to resolve obstacles and maintain progress toward deadlines.
• Coordinate tax season planning, special projects, and operational initiatives that support the firm's client service goals.
• Leverage CCH Axcess Workflow, reporting tools, and AI-assisted technologies to improve visibility, efficiency, and operational decision-making.
• Support and promote consistent use of workflow processes and operational technologies across the firm.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in public accounting, tax operations, workflow management, project management, or a professional services environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with partners, managers, and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, with experience using reporting and productivity tools.
• Experience with workflow or practice management software (CCH Axcess Workflow preferred).
