Textbook Center Assistant

Start Date: Summer 2026 Salary: Minimum Wage

Description: Candidate must be an HF student/graduate, available to work when scheduled, on an as needed basis, in the Textbook Center. The candidate must assist in completing inventory, textbook distribution and collection, processing shipments, must be available for peak times such as before and/or after school, at the beginning and end of the school year, summer school book distribution, book-and-fee days in August (including Saturday), and late registration (mid-August). The candidate must have the ability to interact with students and parents, administrators, teachers, and staff members in a pleasant and professional manner. Must have the ability to lift full boxes of textbooks, bend and reach; and have attention to detail in all tasks assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Restocking and shelving books in the correct location.
• Reading shelves for proper placement of materials.
• Scanning items during inventories.
• Packaging and moving full boxes of books for shipment up to 65 lbs., as needed.
• Processing incoming shipments of books.
• Set-up of items for bulk distribution.
• Fine-filing, as needed (alpha and numerical).
• Other duties as assigned.
