The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Measurement Technician to support accurate, reliable measurement across our oil and gas operations. This senior-level field role is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and verifying gas and liquid measurement systems used in production and delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety and compliance, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with production, automation, accounting, and operations teams. This is a field-based position supporting our Appalachian operations across Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. You will spend the majority of your time working in the field, with occasional travel to our headquarters in Morgantown, WV for meetings and training. What You Will Be Doing
- Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot gas and liquid measurement equipment, including flow meters, transmitters, pressure and temperature devices, flow computers, and electronic flow measurement systems.
- Verify and document the accuracy of custody transfer measurement systems in accordance with contractual, company, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct gas meter proving, witnessing, calibration checks, and equipment verification activities following applicable AGA, API, GPA, and company standards.
- Review measurement data, identify discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve issues that could impact production volumes, reporting accuracy, or revenue.
- Maintain accurate records, including calibration reports, equipment logs, configuration records, and other measurement documentation.
- Support commissioning and startup of new measurement equipment and facilities, ensuring proper configuration and communication with control systems and SCADA.
- Collaborate with automation, production, accounting, and operations teams to support measurement integrity and reliable production reporting.
- Conduct field audits and inspections to support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with process improvements and technology upgrades that enhance measurement accuracy, efficiency, and system reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians on measurement, calibration, and troubleshooting best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in Instrumentation, Measurement, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 5-7 years of measurement operations experience in the oil and gas industry, including calibration, maintenance, and verification of electronic flow measurement and custody transfer systems.
- Strong understanding of gas and liquid measurement principles, including applicable AGA, API, and GPA standards.
- Proficiency troubleshooting and calibrating flow computers, transmitters, pressure and temperature devices, and related measurement equipment.
- Familiarity with SCADA integration, control systems, gas sampling techniques, and chromatograph operations.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and measurement data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with high attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping.
- Working knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements, including standards associated with PHMSA, EPA, and OSHA.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments, travel regularly to field sites across Ohio and Pennsylvania, and respond to changing priorities or emergency callouts as needed.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.v
