Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 3:00pm - 9:00pm Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-Time DC Recycling Support, you will assist in the facility maintenance for our in-house cardboard, plastic, metals and wood pallets, helping to reduce our Distribution Center's carbon footprint. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Determining proper disposal methods
• Separating waste from recyclable materials
• Sorting pallets and ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of the facility
• Operating and performing basic maintenance of balers
• Following proper recycling techniques and facility rules/guidelines
• Working towards improving our "Think Green" environment
• Maintaining the cleanliness/organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
• Willingness to stand for extended periods of time
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous forklift experience
