Senior Software Engineer (GenAI / Agentic AI) - NC

Job Title: GenAI / Agentic AI Engineer Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension) Pay Rate: $69/hr - $74/hr Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite 5 days/week REQUIRED Note: We are not able to consider C2C or third-party submissions Role Overview In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. You will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI applications. This role is focused on building scalable AI-driven automation solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency, while ensuring security, governance, and compliance standards are met. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven applications using LLMs, APIs, and agent frameworks. Build agentic workflows and automation solutions using Power Platform and UiPath. Implement prompt engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent orchestration patterns. Integrate AI models with enterprise systems, APIs, and data platforms. Develop and maintain containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes. Participate in Agile development cycles within a dedicated engineering pod. Troubleshoot application and model issues and optimize performance. Ensure solutions meet security, governance, and compliance standards. Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in AI engineering. Required Qualifications 4+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education. 2+ years of hands‑on experience building Agentic AI applications or GenAI solutions. Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio) and UiPath. Experience with Python, REST APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (GCP/Azure/OpenShift). 2+ years of experience using Git for source code version control, including branching, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LangChain or similar agent frameworks. Experience with LLM integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and RAG patterns. Experience with Alteryx, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), or AI workflow orchestration. Understanding of cloud security principles including identity and access management, encryption, and network security. Experience working in highly regulated industries. Experience as a technical lead or architect, including mentoring senior engineers. Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
