Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring at least one year of experience and current GA state license.

Details

• Acute Care Hospital setting with additional exposure to outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility environments
• Patient population includes orthopedic conditions such as cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, and total hip/knee replacement
• Also treats neurologic conditions including cognitive disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with one weekend per month
• Requires floating and every other weekend rotation
• 13-week assignment with possibility of extension
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum one year of Physical Therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• GA state PT license required (license required if applicable)
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Proficiency in body mechanics and orthopedic/neurologic assessment skills required
• Skilled in home exercise program development and patient/family education

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and neurologic patients in an acute care setting
• Focus on home exercise program development and patient/family education as part of care plan
• Minimal to no RTO accepted, especially around holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live at least 31 miles from the facility to be considered; those within 30 miles will not be accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Pre-start completion of up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules via HealthStream required
