Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients according to established standards; collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize outcomes.
- Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient/family education.
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in rendering care; support patient and family needs across the lifespan.
- Serve as a resource person; supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse when applicable.
- Maintain competence in current nursing practice and comply with Alaska RN practice requirements.

Requirements
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Graduation from an NLN-approved nursing program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in applying the nursing process, administering medications, interpreting diagnostics, and educating patients/families.
- Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination may be required for on-site travel assignments.
