Vice President of Asset Management

UrbanStreet Group (“USG”) is a national real estate development and investment firm. Founded in 1996, the firm has developed multifamily communities, master planned communities, retail projects and mixed-use projects in several markets across the country. To date, USG has developed a portfolio of assets comprising over 2,000 multifamily units and commercial properties totaling over $1 billion in value.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Asset Management will oversee operations for multifamily & mixed-use properties located in Suburban Chicago, Phoenix and Madison. The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated and collaborative individual possessing a strong understanding of institutional multifamily operations. The Vice President of Asset Management will report to the Executive Vice President.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee business plan execution for assigned portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use assets to drive asset-level performance
- Develop strong relationships with property management, finance and accounting teams to advance USG’s growth initiatives
- Establish and track KPI’s to monitor operations and address performance issues
- Review and analyze annual budgets and monthly financial reporting and prepare deliverables for internal leadership, lenders and joint venture partners
- Conduct routine asset walks and tour competing properties
- Evaluate and selectively implement new technology and proptech initiatives that deliver ROI and increase operating efficiency
- Collaborate with brokerage teams to lease retail components of mixed-use projects
- Monitor supply/demand trends and macroeconomic factors impacting asset performance
- Participate in the process of underwriting new development opportunities
- Generate and update asset management models and prepare hold/sell analyses
- Monitor loan requirements and address lender requests
Required Skills & Abilities
- Highly collaborative with a strong sense of initiative and accountability
- Self-starter with advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated modeling and financial analysis skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to properties
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in multifamily real estate, ideally performing asset management for an owner or operator of class-A multifamily projects, both stabilized and during lease-up
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
