Job Summary:
Garden Inn Evanston is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards
• Assist with renovations, upgrades, and special projects as needed
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification – required
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts if needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing ladders, and use of maintenance tools
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
