General Production Worker
This role involves working in a manufacturing environment to package, label, and prepare products within one of three major classifications: Foam, Coatings Mills, or Coatings Reactors. You will operate and support production and packaging equipment, handle hazardous materials safely, and ensure all products meet quality, documentation, and safety standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and the flexibility to perform a variety of production tasks with minimal supervision once trained.
Responsibilities:
- Pack products in one of three major classifications: Foam, Coatings Mills, or Coatings Reactors according to established procedures.
- Set up the packaging area for the assigned product classification, ensuring all materials, equipment, and tools are ready for production.
- Fill containers to specified weights while maintaining expected quality standards and consistency.
- Label products accurately before and after packaging, including wash, leftover bulk, and non-conforming material, in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare packages by using nitrogen to flush away contaminants in the head space and ensure product integrity.
- Prepare and secure container closures by properly crimping lids, torquing bungs and tote caps, and applying seals and zip ties.
- Follow DOT hazardous material procedures as trained, ensuring compliant handling, packaging, and documentation of hazardous materials.
- Operate manufacturing and packaging equipment for the assigned product classification with minimal direction once properly trained.
- Handle hazardous materials safely and correctly, following all safety processes and standard operating procedures.
- Accurately complete production paperwork, including batch tickets and process documentation, to maintain traceability and production flow.
- Maintain continuous production flow by monitoring processes, coordinating with team members, and addressing issues promptly.
- Follow directions from supervisors or leads and communicate effectively regarding production status and issues.
- Identify and act on variations in foreign debris, texture, and color, escalating concerns to quality control or supervision as needed.
- Understand and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to production, packaging, safety, and quality.
- Work closely with quality control to maintain standards throughout the packaging process and ensure products meet specifications.
- Multitask across different production and packaging activities while maintaining accuracy and safety.
- Perform miscellaneous production, packaging, or warehouse tasks as assigned to support overall operations.
- Thoroughly understand and comply with all safety requirements, including the proper use of equipment, personal protective measures, and process SOPs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Essential Skills:
- At least 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment within a single company.
- Experience in production, machine operation, or packaging in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to operate manufacturing and packaging machinery safely after training.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate filling, labeling, and documentation.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Capability to identify variations in product appearance, including foreign debris, texture, and color, and respond appropriately.
- Comfort with handling hazardous materials in accordance with DOT and internal safety procedures.
- Ability to complete batch tickets and production paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and safety.
- Physical ability to regularly lift 50–70 lb buckets with the assistance of lifting equipment.
- Willingness to work under direction from supervisors or leads and collaborate with quality control teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or food manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Comfort working with large mixing equipment and related production tools.
- Experience following detailed safety and quality protocols in a regulated environment.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a manufacturing setting that utilizes large mixing equipment and industrial packaging machinery. The position operates on a four-day workweek with two primary shifts: a first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The dress code is casual and practical, suitable for a hands-on production environment (for example, attire appropriate for painting or similar physical work). The work is physically demanding and requires regularly lifting 50–70 lb buckets, with lift-assist equipment available to support safe handling. Employees work around chemicals and hazardous materials, following strict safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and DOT guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
