About the Position

Job Title: Radiographer Profession: Radiographer Specialty: Adult Diagnostic X-Ray Duration: 13 months Shift: Overnight Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Entry-level License: Must meet applicant eligibility requirements and published standards for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty required by the hiring department. Certifications: AHA BLS required. Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. - Based on specific assignment, skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. - Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. - Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies and terminology associated with the primary specialty for which hired and credentialed. - Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, this position provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. This may occur in a variety of care settings including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic and urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics. Preparing patients for procedures and correlating clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians is essential. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team are necessary to identify and implement actions required to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals. The role involves utilizing specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures per established guidelines. Conducting post-procedure reviews to confirm completion and documentation of required elements is a key responsibility. Additionally, transferring images and data to appropriate archival systems, entering technical data/findings, and preparing studies for reporting by physicians are critical tasks. Performing operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines is expected. Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments is important.
