Position Title: Civil Construction Estimator

The Civil Construction Estimator plays a crucial role in the bidding process for utility construction projects at a respected firm with over 40 years of experience. This position involves preparing detailed estimates for projects ranging from $50,000 to $10 million, focusing on sanitary, storm, and water utilities. The estimator will collaborate with owners and the existing estimating team, while also having the autonomy to manage projects independently after training. The role demands a strong background in heavy civil construction, particularly in utility projects, and the ability to navigate diverse project types. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the skills necessary to ensure accurate and timely estimates.

Salary Range : $110,000 - $140,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle estimating for heavy civil utility projects
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
• Collaborate with owners for bid reviews and final submissions
• Utilize HeavyBid for building estimates and maintaining documentation
• Primarily office-based with local field travel in a company vehicle

Requirements:

• 5+ years documented estimating experience
• Heavy civil utility experience in sanitary, storm, and water projects
• Local/regional residency within one hour of Philadelphia/Delaware County
• Ability to manage the full estimate lifecycle independently after ramp-up
• Willingness to work onsite and conduct local site/pre-bid visits
• Clean drug screen is required
• Broader heavy civil/site work experience beyond utilities is preferred
• Prior use of HeavyBid or similar software is preferred
• Experience mentoring junior estimators is preferred
• Interest in project management responsibilities is preferred
