Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerMerced, California, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-26$2,722.84/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years ICU experience, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.Details20-bed ICU in an acute care hospital settingPatient ratio of 1:2Uses Cerner EMR12-hour night shifts on a 7a/7p schedule2 weekends required per 4-week periodHoliday coverage as needed per unit requirementsFloating required to Med-Surg Tele and Tele floors, with travelers floated firstMay be deployed to the ED to care for boarded ICU patients or placed on standby with a 30-minute response timeStandby without being called in counts as a cancellation under the facility's policyFloor-specific orientation includes 2 shifts in ICU and 1 shift on an outside unitNo block scheduling or scheduling accommodations for outside commitmentsRequirementsActive CA RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredCCRN and basic critical care course preferredMinimum 2 years of ICU experience requiredStrong IV skills requiredComfortable managing ventilated patients and applying the ABCDE bundleMust be able to independently read and interpret telemetry stripsExperience with sepsis, DKA, COPD, GI bleeds, and post-surgical ICU recovery patientsComfortable administering sedation medications such as Versed, Propofol, and norepinephrineAdditional InformationCharge nurse on each shift serves as a resource for the entire hospital and does not carry a patient assignmentRespiratory therapy manages ventilators and is available 24/7, as is pharmacyIn-house internal medicine coverage is available 24/7, with pulmonology providing intensivist-level support outside of 24/7 hoursFacility is not currently a STEMI center and does not treat neuro casesNavy scrub color requiredCandidates should be comfortable floating to other units and taking a full patient loadLocated near Yosemite National Park and several lakes, with San Francisco and Sacramento roughly 2 hours awayFirst-time travelers may be considered
