Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Preoperative, PACU, and Phase II care to provide high-quality outpatient surgical nursing services. The role requires rapid onboarding and the ability to handle a diverse range of outpatient procedures and patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients preoperatively to ensure readiness for procedures and provide peri-operative education.
• Monitor and manage post-anesthesia and post-operative complications to ensure patient safety.
• Float across outpatient services including Day Surgery, Endoscopy Lab, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Pre-operative Clinic.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive nursing care aligned with procedural requirements.
• Administer conscious sedation for special procedures, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, care, and findings.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with applicable state certification.
• Proven experience in PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase II nursing.
• Strong skills in peri-operative assessment and patient education.
• Ability to handle emergent post-anesthesia and post-operative issues professionally.
• Flexibility to work a 4-10 schedule with variable hours and participate in shared on-call rotation.
• Demonstrated ability to float across outpatient service areas as needed.
