Cummins will consider any Active Duty member that is eligible for the DoW SkillBridge program however, for immediate consideration, Cummins is looking for Military members to fill the following roles:

• Machining, Manufacturing, Electrician, Machine Repair and much more.

External Qualifications and Competencies

Competencies: Cummins DoW SkillBridge criteria:

• Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember
• Must be separating from the Military in 4-12 months
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 8 weeks and up to a maximum of 6 months SkillBridge internship
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
• Willingness to learn from others on the job

Requirements

• Active military service member participating in the SkillBridge program with a strong interest in Mechanical or Electrical work.
• Hands-on mechanical or electrical background is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of engine diagnostics, vehicle maintenance procedures, and mechanical systems repair.
• Familiarity with manufacturing operations and equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately; strong mechanical knowledge required.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate machinery safely; excellent attention to safety protocols is essential.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.

This non-paid internship provides an exceptional opportunity for transitioning service members to apply and strengthen their military skills in a civilian manufacturing equipment repair environment. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and skill development, participants gain valuable industry knowledge and practical expertise, setting them up for long-term career success in the manufacturing and equipment repair field. Education, Licenses, Certifications: This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Minimal or no work experience required.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

This is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through Cummins. If selected for full-time employment with Cummins upon completion of SkillBridge you will be eligible for: base salary rate commensurate with experience.
