Surgical Technician

Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus Role & Department: Surgical Technician in the Surgical Services Department Hours & Shift: Part-time (0.8 FTE) Day Shift Position (6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.), with on-call responsibilities Role Responsibilities: The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the registered nurse and surgeon, is responsible for the care and safety of the patients who come under his/her care Included within this, is the responsibility to communicate effectively with the registered nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians Person is responsible for the safe and appropriate sterile processing of surgical equipment and instrumentation Responsible for clerical duties as assigned by departmental director, such as but not limited to, responding to phone calls, verification of patient charges, collecting departmental statistics Candidates should have abasic knowledge of computerized spreadsheets, word processing and data input Qualifications: Candidates should have a technical college education/degree in an Operating Room Technician program or equivalent experience in a Operating Room Technician position Prior health care experience is preferred Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality patient care Must have excellent communication skills and be very dependable and have some flexibility with their personal schedules Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite programs is beneficial Employee Benefits: Comprehensive benefits packages available for both part and full-time employees!
