Lecturer/Lecturer Doctoral Schedule - Simulation NurseLehman College, part of The City University of New York, is a four‑year Hispanic‑Serving Institution located in the Bronx that offers bachelor’s, master’s, and advanced degree programs. The Department of Nursing is housed in the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing (HS2N) and seeks a full‑time Lecturer/Doctoral‑Schedule Simulation Nurse to begin Fall2026/Spring2027. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses as assigned by the department chair and consistent with the candidate’s credentials and experience. Participate in the day‑to‑day operation of the Nursing Simulation and Arts Laboratory Center. Provide faculty guidance and support in the development and delivery of simulation scenarios; conduct training sessions to enhance faculty competency in simulation pedagogy and technology. Design and develop realistic simulation scenarios that reflect clinical practice settings and patient populations encountered in nursing, ensuring scenarios address various levels of learner proficiency and promote critical thinking and clinical decision‑making skills. Coordinate with the Academic Manager to develop assessment tools and criteria for evaluating student performance in simulation‑based learning activities; collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of simulation experiences and make recommendations for improvement. Keep staff abreast of advancements in simulation technology and pedagogy. Foster partnerships with other health‑care disciplines to facilitate interprofessional simulation experiences; coordinate joint simulation activities to promote teamwork and communication skills among health‑care professionals. Have experience in the use of high and low‑fidelity simulations in adult and child nursing. Participate in departmental, school, and college meetings; provide service to the department, school, college, and university as required for faculty permanency. Specific Skills and Abilities Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New York. Demonstrated experience in nursing education, with a focus on simulation‑based learning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of simulation technology and equipment, including proficiency in simulation software applications. Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED regulatory requirements for nursing education programs. Qualifications Lecturer : Master’s degree in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in the area of adult health and community‑based care; excellent organizational skills; demonstrated experience working in a large, diverse program; administrative skills; ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Lecturer on a Doctoral Schedule : PhD, EdD, or DNS degree in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in the area of adult health and community‑based care; excellent organizational skills; demonstrated experience working in a large, diverse program; administrative skills; ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Preferred Qualifications Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. Commitment to obtain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator within two (2) years of hire. Compensation Lecturer: $95,302 – $101,737 per year. Lecturer/Doctoral Schedule: $101,040 – $107,686 per year.
