As a member of our team, you will play an important role in our company's positive culture by helping us build and maintain an effective organization as the automotive and energy storage industry moves toward an electric future.The Health & Safety Specialist focus on improving Health and Safety at the StarPlus Energy by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong S&H culture. Functions as an expert resource to teams for consistent implementation of company H&S standards and programs. Evaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations. Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation. This job is responsible for identifying the clear root cause of safety issues, serving as a control tower to improve accident issues. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable H&S regulations and standards. Assist the safety and health manager and oversee planning work within the department. This person must possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills within their field. Carrying out tasks the possible best way based on the job description and based on the superior's instructions. Creating reports keep due to date. Any other task what is given by the employee's superior and requires similar skills and competence. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.Acquire and manage the ISO45001 certification processConduct weekly line walks to ensure H&S practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any H&S related policies/regulationsManage annual safety trainingsDevelop and deliver safety trainings to employeesOversee one or more plant-wide safety and health programsWhen an emergency issue occurs, report it and work together with relevant personnel to resolve the issueEnsure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadershipParticipate in incident investigations and track corrective actionsConduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessmentsConduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other S&H related training topicsEvaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulationsPerforms jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigationConducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable S&H regulations and standardsKeeping job descriptions up to dateEstablish work-related regulations and standards and keep them up to dateAreas of Leadership and Technical abilitiesAction / Results oriented: Problem solving, attitude, deliver projects on time with high qualityStrong knowledge of experience working with OSHA and state/local regulations and requirementsStrong presentation skills to clearly articulate: business problems, analytical approaches, potential solutions & recommendationsAbility to draw conclusions and make recommendations per team goalsAbility to anticipate "what if" scenariosHigh level of written and verbal communicationSelf-motivated: energetic, enjoys working at quick paceRequired Job RequirementsBachelor's degreeMinimum of 5 years of experience in similar position, with strong foundation in project managementExcellent organizational, written, and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the organization including hourly employees to Senior LeadershipAbility to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externallyDemonstrated technical problem-solving abilityGoal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teamsMust have a good working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to work overtime as requiredPreferred Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in chemistry/chemical engineering, Fire safety and relevant experienceBilingual English / KoreanExtensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applicationsExcellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentationCritical thinking and an analytical mindsetDemonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goal
