Middleware Engineer (IBM BAW / Cloud Pak)

Location: NEW YORK CITY ONLY!

Duration: 6 months

Manage and support IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) platforms

Administer IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) environments

Maintain and optimize middleware infrastructure for business workflows

Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of systems

Support deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management

Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams

Automate middleware operations and deployments

Monitor system health and perform performance tuning

Provide production support and incident resolution

Maintain compliance with enterprise security and operational standards

Install, configure, and administer IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) on-prem and cloud

Manage middleware components including WebSphere Application Server/Liberty, DB2/Oracle, MQ, FileNet, and LDAP

Perform system health checks, monitoring, and capacity planning

Execute patches, upgrades, and hotfixes with minimal downtime

Automate deployment and operational tasks using tools like Ansible and Jenkins

Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for provisioning and troubleshooting

Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions for middleware environments

Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues

Support production deployments, including weekend activities when required

Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices

Hands-on experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW/BPM)

Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA)

Strong knowledge of WebSphere Application Server and Liberty

Experience with databases like DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL

Knowledge of middleware tools such as MQ, Kafka, FileNet, and LDAP

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and automation tools like Ansible

Scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or Splunk

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools like JIRA and ServiceNow

Middleware administration and support

IBM BAW and CP4BA platform management

WebSphere and application server management

Container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift)

CI/CD and automation (Jenkins, Ansible)

Monitoring and observability tools

Database and messaging systems

High availability and disaster recovery

Incident management and root cause analysis

System performance optimization
